Hello there! My name is Shalim Jacob. Thank you for visiting my blog. I am 19 years old, yes, young I know, but there’s a saying (which I just made up) “The younger the more energetic”. God is saving people from all age groups and is creating His family. My blogs will reflect my perspectives on life, faith and modern culture. Taking into account Jesus command to “be in the world but not of it”, I see culture as a vibrant expression of societies, and I appreciate the arts and diversity. But given my faith views, I recognise that God is still calling people from different subcultures and teaching them what is and what is not holy and honouring to Him. Therefore, as I accept culture as a good thing, I also understand that not everything in it is good. This is mostly what I like to comment on. I hope to show the relevance of Jesus in the 21th century world. One of my subject areas is the Social Sciences, which helps me to understand people and cultures. But I recognise that human reason has flaws and limits. I let my study inform me, but the Bible guide me.
It’s also important I think that you know where I stand theologically. I am a Bible believing Christian who accepts the 5 Points of Calvinism as Biblical and the 5 Solas of the Reformation – broadly I consider myself a Reformed Christian.
It is my sincere prayer that my posts will be helpful to you. You will, if you haven’t already, have read posts about some issues which have circulated my mind for months, some apologetic responses, and personal struggles in my life as a teenager living in a ‘post-modern’ world.
Currently I am pursuing my undergraduates at London South Bank University, studying Law with Sociology.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Grace & Peace!
